Titusville, Florida, is one of Florida’s best-kept secrets. Home to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center and the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge, it is a perfect place for a fun family vacation, conveniently located less than one hour from Orlando. While many people pass right through Titusville during the long drive down I-95 towards West Palm Beach, Miami, or the Keys, Titusville is well worth a one or two-night stopover on your next trip.
Merritt Island is of my favorite places to visit in Florida – don’t miss it if you’re in the area.
If you go, be sure to check out Dixie Crossroads Seafood, a local favorite. They serve shrimp by the species, fresh-caught fish, burgers, and more. People have been flocking to Dixie Crossroads for decades because they have some of the best seafood in the state. I grew up going to Dixie Seafood on vacation!
At the Dixie Seafood on one of my many trips down there. There is this beautiful mural right in front of the entrance to the restaurant.
The Sunrise Bread Company is a more recent addition to Titusville downtown. It is a cute little coffee shop, and bakery started by true locals of the Titusville area. They have breakfast classics, like bagel and cream cheese or a bagel and egg, both on their fresh-baked bagels and also a variety of lunch options. They have plenty of seating in a comfortable, stylish, shabby-chic setting.
